Oxford down – developed from crossing the Cotswold breed with the Hampshire sheep. Produces sweet succulent meat.

Southdown – once, one of the most popular breeds developed on the Sussex downs for London market. Changing fashions saw its decline to rare breeds status. It produces top quality meat, which is sweet and succulent.

Cotswold – claimed to have descended from sheep introduced by the Romans, the Cotswold is a large framed, long wool breed producing high quality sweet lamb.

"For the public to appreciate how wonderful and different ‘real meat tastes, it is vital that the rare breeds survival trust receives all the support it can from everyone who cares about ‘real` farming."
